Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Egg Clash (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Egg Clash is a free-to-play web game. You can create an account, customize eggs, battle other players, join matches, and view rankings. Features may change over time.

3. Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use certain features you may need an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information
• Keep your credentials secure
• Notify us promptly of unauthorized use
• Accept responsibility for activity under your account

3.2 Account security

You are responsible for safeguarding your login. We are not liable for loss arising from your failure to protect your account, except where prohibited by law.

4. Optional donations

You may support the project through voluntary donations (for example via PayPal). Donations are optional and do not constitute payment for guaranteed features, uptime, or support. Refund rules follow the payment provider and applicable law.

5. User content

5.1 Ownership

You are responsible for content you create in the Service, including egg designs and drawings you save (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit User Content solely to operate and improve the Service.

5.2 Your responsibilities

You agree that your User Content will not:

• Violate any law or third-party rights
• Contain malware, harassment, hate speech, or illegal material
• Impersonate others or mislead users about the origin of content

5.3 Moderation

We may remove or restrict content or accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for users or the Service.

6. Intellectual property

The Service (software, branding, layout, and non–user-generated content) is owned by us or our licensors. Except for your User Content and your rights in third-party materials you are allowed to use, you may not copy, reverse engineer, or distribute the Service except as permitted by law.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or infrastructure
• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, data, or systems
• Use bots, scrapers, or automation to exploit the Service without permission
• Share account credentials or circumvent security

8. Availability

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or events beyond our control may cause downtime.

9. Third-party services

The Service may rely on third parties (e.g. Supabase, Google sign-in, analytics, payment providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy and GDPR Information (where applicable).

10.1 Google user data — required disclosures

If you sign in with Google, our application accesses certain Google user data through Google APIs in line with the Google API Services User Data Policy and Google APIs Terms of Service.

Data accessed:

• Email address — your Google account email
• Profile information — your name (given and family) and profile picture URL
• Account identifier — a unique identifier (OpenID Connect sub claim) linking your Google account to your Egg Clash account

We request only the scopes necessary for authentication (typically email, profile, and openid). We do not access Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, or other Google services beyond basic identity information listed above.

How we use this data:

• Authentication — to verify your identity and create or link your Egg Clash account
• Account management — to show your name and profile in the app (e.g. menus, leaderboards)
• Communication — for account-related emails (e.g. security, support)
• Storage — email, name, and profile picture URL are stored securely in our database (Supabase) and used only to provide the Service. We do not sell this data or use it for third-party advertising
• Retention — Google-derived data is kept while your account is active and removed or anonymized when you delete your account, subject to legal retention obligations

We do not use Google user data for advertising. You may revoke our access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service or delete your account where the feature is available. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or users.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ZERO IF THE SERVICE IS FREE.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where required, mandatory consumer protections in your country remain unaffected.

16. Changes

We may modify these Terms. We will post updates on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
